In this course we shall be learning about introductory concepts to Computer Architecture. We’ll begin by watching videos on these important aspects of Operating systems. You are encouraged to ensure that you have access to a reliable Internet and that your devices (computer, tablet or phone) have properly working multimedia systems. This module also presents a number of interactive and non-interactive activities. You will be required to complete all the activities before you can proceed to the next module.
This module introduces you to structure and organization of computer system. You will learn about the key components of a computer system such as the processor, memory and I/O subsystem. These form the building blocks of modern day computers. You will also learn about computers as programmable machines, the Von Neumann model, Instruction cycle and the interconnection techniques used in ensuring that the different components of a computer system work together.
